Opening Reception: Saturday September 15, 2018, 5:30-7:30PM

The gallery is located at 1987 Palmer Avenue, Larchmont, NY 10538.

BIZ G87 is pleased to present its newest exhibition, “Inspired Journeys: Through Art.”  A group exhibition featuring works by Renee Baley, Melissa Noah, Donna Scarpa, and Sunny Stubin. Curated by Donna Scarpa.

“Inspired Journeys: Through Art“is about the inspiration an artist feels to create. What is that special something that sparks their soul and their imagination? “Inspired Journeys” allows the viewer to travel with each artist to experience their unique and individual voices. All four artists have chosen different artistic directions and have made creative choices along the way.

Renee Baley states “that her art has always been inspired by her chosen subject and her desire to explore it. My goal is to use art as a place to explore a world of new chances.” Melissa Noah says “that she is an avid follower of global current events and is inspired by the news and media images that are seen on a daily basis. I am drawn to expressions of strong emotion.” Donna Scarpa feels “that her art is often inspired by her surroundings but could really come from anywhere. I will often jump start the creative process by loosely drawing and painting on a surface, while connecting my internal feelings and reactions to visually guide myself.” Sunny Stubin comments that “she uses color to ignite her creativity, and that she loves the mysterious, and her art reflects surrealistic overtones. Just as she has been inspired by past events she now finds inspiration in what the future may hold.”

Every journey is as unique as the individual but perhaps they are universal. Whether the journey is driven by external influences, emotional and internal reactions, social causes or the desire to tell a story. The overarching common thread for these artists is the need to create based on the pure love and joy of the creative process itself.

Facts and Ambiguity: Expressions in Composition

I am pleased to announce the first in a series of three upcoming shows that I am curating, featuring the artists of Women’s Art Power. The first exhibition, “Facts and Ambiguity: Expressions in Composition,” will run from June 7, 2018 through August 18, 2018 at The BIZ G87 Gallery, and will feature works by Gail Gardella, Sara Gilbert, Sherri Paul, and Anne Telford.

Opening Reception: Saturday June 9, 2018, 5:30-8:00PM

The gallery is located at 1987 Palmer Avenue, Larchmont, NY 10538.

BIZ G87 is pleased to present its newest exhibition, “Facts and Ambiguity: Expressions in Composition” curated by Donna Scarpa.  A group exhibition featuring works by Gail Gardella, Sara Gilbert, Sherri Paul, and Anne Telford.  “Facts and Ambiguity” invites the viewer to enter into the form of each painting and allows the individual to experience the art using the mind’s eye.  There is just enough detail for the viewer to become part of the experience and complete the story as they wish.

In Facts and Ambiguity: Expressions in Composition, the viewer will find women whose narratives of self-understanding tell their own unique stories by showing a sense of experience and creating their own personal world.  What are these artists telling us about themselves and their world?  Perhaps they are speaking to the complexity of women’s experience – the intersection between vulnerability, strength and specifically the ambiguity of women’s empowerment within the constraints of the world.  Perhaps these women have been empowered by finding their own creative voice?  This risk taking allows each artist to experience the freedom and joy that is found by embracing their own unique artistic expression, and to tell their stories as they wish.
