ABOUT
ARTIST STATEMENT
Color and materiality are the hallmarks of my work. I strive to create tactile and spatial relationships through gestural line, layered surface and form. Using my environment as a catalyst, I work formally and intuitively, painting to capture a feeling, a memory or a given space. Working with multiple tools along with my brushes I explore as I make marks and repetitious movements across the surface. Once the painting begins to evolve, I respond to what is happening in the moment and follow each individual experience to its natural end.
